Last week in ISM was another week of new experiences and encounters, but I can confidently say that the main focus of the week was "Professionalism." We went over some of the rules that we should keep in mind for our professional suits, which I have to say was a lot more than I expected. I went out to buy my professional suit during the weekend, and that was another new experience for me since I was trying on clothes that I never had before. I learned that there are lots of etiquettes we should keep in a professional setting, and I was excited at the thought that I was resembling an adult that I have always dreamed about being. We also worked on our resumés, and that was a bit of a challenge. I have never created a professional resumé before, so even just choosing the right template was a bit of a struggle. However, I was able to quickly get the grasp of it by looking at examples I found by other professionals and by referencing back to my LinkedIn profile for the information I needed. I was proud of myself for completing such a task, and although it was a rough draft, I was pretty happy with the result. For my second research assessment, I focused on an article that discussed different music production projects that can be done by beginner music students. I wanted to get an idea of what I could do for my original work. I learned that music production touches on all kinds of sectors such as film, social media, marketing, and many more. There are wide variety of projects that I can take on, and I am excited to begin a new path of my journey. This week, I want to learn more about original projects that can be adjusted to reach different audiences that I can put as an option for my original work, and narrow down my choices a little bit. Some questions that popped up in my mind were "how can I create an original project that both fit my needs and is entertaining for the audience?" and "what steps should I be taking in order to get inspired for my original work?" With these questions in mind, I will step closer to my goals through my ISM journey this week and keep pushing myself to gain more confidence in my dreams.
