Mentor Biography

Laura Veras is an outspoken A&R and artist manager with experience in marketing who graduated from Berklee College of Music with a B.A in Music Business Management and a minor in Music Technology.

Along with founding her own artist management company, she has completed 7 internships over the past few years. Companies she has worked with include WRKSHP with Che Pope, Ultra Records, United Talent Agency and iHeartMedia. During each internship, she has placed focus on not only learning more about how the business works, but using the skills she obtained to develop original business plans that better either the company or her community. Examples include WAVES, a payola free music platform designed to expose new artists through radio play, as well as a campaign partnered with EdgeFest and Crest Nissan to put an end to distracted driving.

Laura also has experience in live music. She has developed, organized and curated sets for both Lollapalooza and Music Midtown. Along with this, she was the creative director, booking agent and tour manager for a northeastern tour with Annie Tracy. She has also produced many shows at Berklee College of Music, including the T-Pain Tribute Show, Tristan Simone and the Cast of Bella Madness and more.

Laura is very passionate about music, marketing and technology. She sees the value of learning about each industry separately and enjoys exploring innovative ways on how to merge them together. She completed a minor in Music Technology, where she has learned the ins and outs of signal flow, recording and production, audio engineering and more. Laura is also a supervisor at the Technology Support Desk on campus, where she provides superior customer service to over 5,000 students and faculty on 100+ software and hardware issues.

Laura currently balances working full time as an Associate Account Executive at Epsilon, a leader in the data and marketing consulting world, along with managing hip hop artist NxG and freelance music journalism with non-profit Early Rising.
