First Mentor Visit! - #20

Last Wednesday, I had my first mentor visit! I finally scheduled a "visit" with Laura after school through Zoom since it was our first mentor visit, and I just wanted to discuss the logistics with her regarding how this semester will look like for us. Since this was my first mentor “visit,” I was a bit nervous as to what kinds of questions I should be asking my mentor, and how I should be asking for feedback that will help me grow and improve as a high school student interested in Music Business. Extending from my last research interview with Laura, I was looking forward to learning more about her college experience at the Berklee School of Music, as well as her opinions on my original work. Laura was extremely kind, and I was able to get so many great ideas for my final product. Many of which she suggested were about making marketing plans for real artists, and I thought these were amazing ideas since I am mainly focusing on the business and marketing aspects of the music industry. I am hoping to look more into this topic through my research assessment this week. This way I will be able to gather enough information to earn feedback from my mentor, and possibly hear more details about her experience making marketing plans herself when she was in college. This first mentor visit really made me feel that things are starting to pick up their pace this semester. I am thrilled, although nervous, to have a mentor that can guide me through my ISM journey and enhance the quality of the research that I conduct as well.
